Worth The Wait

I’ve made mistakes, maybe more than my share.

On my knees I’ve been searching for answers to prayer.

Can someone relate? Or are my feelings unique?

I’m weary from waiting for the answers I seek.

 

But I’m drawn to the scriptures and begin an earnest look

For someone who knows the painful path that I took.

Are there others who’ve walked here or am I just one of a kind?

My search for answers then reveals these thoughts to my mind…

I’m Thomas the doubter, wanna see it with my own eyes.

 

I’m Alma the younger, hear the angel’s voice;

I’m King Lamoni, need to make the right choice;

I’m Paul the Apostle, after seeing the light;

I’m Joseph in Liberty, wanna know how it’s all gonna work out right.

 

Right now I may not seem so great;

I just hope that I am worth the wait.

He knows best how to fulfill His purpose divine.

His thoughts and ways don’t always agree to mine.

He uses small and simple to make things great.

So I’ll be patient, and … Wait…
